Founded anew after a devastating fire in 1378, the library of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star preserves a precious collection of medieval manuscripts. During the Communist confiscations in 1950, the codices were moved to the National Library. Returned to the restored order after 1989, the library’s rarest medieval works—comprising 59 codices and 50 fragments—remain on long-term deposit at the National Library.
