One of the most important historical libraries in Central Europe, despite repeated calamities such as the fire of 1258, the Hussite plundering of 1420, and later suppression after 1950. It preserves a unique collection that reflects both its own medieval heritage and later acquisitions from other Czech Premonstratensian houses. While only fragments of its earliest holdings survive, the library encompasses more than hundered medieval manuscripts that can be studied in its study room.
