Founded in 1882, the museum in Klatovy preserves valuable cultural and historical collections from southwestern Bohemia. Its manuscript holdings, housed in the museum library, span the 15th to the 18th centuries and include regional chronicles, guild books, and liturgical codices. The jewel of this collection is the Klatovy Gradual of 1537, a monumentally illuminated Renaissance Utraquist choral manuscript.
